The film shows how difficult life can be for someone suffering from a burn-out. Since 2016 with the film Bridget Jones's Baby, Renée Zellweger has not done as good acting work in her acting career as she does in this film. It is also nice to see her sing and dance in a movie that she really did in 2009 in the movie New in Town. Although she hasn't sung or danced in films for ten years, she still knows how to convey this in this film. For her acting in this film, she will probably be nominated for various film prizes such as the Oscar for best actress.
The rest of the cast also does good acting as the people around Judy Garland who try to help, direct or use her. Jessie Buckley, Finn Wittrock and Michael Gambon also know how to perform their roles.
